Clinical Fellows in Paediatric Allergy
Applications are invited for a clinical fellow in paediatric allergy at the UK’s first Academic Health Science Centre to commence immediately until 2nd September 2018.
This post offers the opportunity to gain broad clinical experience in paediatric allergy in a busy, tertiary department with well-established care pathways. Support and supervision will be provided to the trainee at a suitable level by six consultants.
The post is suitable for a candidate seeking further training in paediatric allergy in order to complete their higher specialist training or a candidate who has completed training but is in need of experience in service development while waiting for a consultant paediatric post.
The post has no out of hours work built in, but there are ample opportunities to choose shifts from the paediatric on-call rota for those who are interested in extending their experience.
The Paediatric Department serves a diverse local population, with 100 languages spoken locally and covering a broad socio-economic range. The paediatric allergy service works closely with tertiary respiratory, gastroenterology and dermatology colleagues. All aspects of paediatric allergy care are offered, covering food allergy, asthma, eczema, allergic rhinitis, drug and venom allergy, multi-system allergic disease. We offer immunotherapy, biological therapies, severe eczema care.
The post holder will join six dynamic consultants and a large, friendly multidisciplinary team with experienced clinical nurse specialists, dietitian and speech & language therapist.
The Imperial Paediatric department is a strong academic department and the unit provides tertiary referral services for a number of paediatric subspecialties.
